![This week’s KRG student spotlight goes to our very own Piper Smith!! 🥳
Piper is a second-year graduate student majoring in Chemistry. She’s been with KRG for over two years, having worked with us towards the end of her time as an undergraduate. Currently, her work focuses on cleaning semiconductor materials using sound waves (🤯) and she’s presented her work [literally] around the world. Piper is furthermore hands-down our BEST when it comes to metrology, but she’ll never say it 🤣
Alongside her research and graduate classes, Piper is a graduate assistant teaching general chemistry 1. Outside of Lewis, she likes to spend time with her cats, Ziggy and Lucy, who are pictured at the end 🐱🐱
Lastly, Piper’s favorite KRG memory was her first time acquiring an image successfully from our profilometer, as she had 1-2 weeks of failures and frustration leading to that. She and the instrument have been on good terms since 😌
